Fun Kid Activities to Prevent Boredom

Bored at home with kids? Finding activities to keep your kids busy is a challenge. Like many parents, you want to find a few activities your kids can do rather than watching television. I try to limit the amount of television or screen time with my daughter each week, so we are often gathered around the kitchen table or in the living room doing activities. We enjoy painting, crafts, puzzles, or using our imagination to build unique creations out of boxes or cardboard.

Here are a few activities that you might find enjoyable.

1. Painting Model or Toy Cars. We had a great time painting a couple of toy cars I ordered recently. This is a great activity to teach concentration, learning about how to mix different colors, and using creativity. The set we used included stencils with different shapes. 2. Wooden Birdhouse Assembly & Paint. I ordered wooden birdhouses as a fun crafting idea. These adorable wooden birdhouses are ready for you to paint and decorate, and make a perfect craft for kids. Add a birdhouse to watch the birds in your yard. This was a great lesson in following instructions when putting the house together. We also enjoyed the creativity of painting with various colors.

3. Painting plates. This was a simple activity that doesn't require a lot of preparation. Simple grabs some paper plates and paint! This a great exercise on using the imagination. We like to come up with different themes or characters to that we create with our imagination.
